As the autumn days are upon us, it is time you start gathering your fall playlists. Sometimes music is the only thing that can help us escape from reality or sometimes you just need a good song to listen to while finishing up your homework. But either way I have the perfect songs and albums to get you in the mood for fall.
“New York” - Lou Reed
This late 80s album is one of my newer discoveries. “New York” will quite literally make it seem like you are walking through the streets of NYC during a crisp fall afternoon. So before you listen, get ready to put your earphones on and find a street full of warm-colored leaves to walk through. You shall thank me later.
“we fell in love in october” - girl in red
Girl In Red has become quite popular over the years. When I think of fall, “we fell in love in october '' immediately pops into my head and it is always at the top of my autumn playlists. The lyrics of this song are nothing special, but it's the soft beat and vocals that really make this song as great as it is. “we fell in love in october” is a song that has become greatly noticed on Tiktok, which is what many might say gave the artist such a following even to this day.
“Thriller” - Michael Jackson
An absolute classic. Just in time for the 31st! This song reminds me of the main characters in Halloween horror movies. It’s even fun to pretend you are that character in those movies to get you in the Halloween mood.
“Sweater Weather” - The Neighbourhood
This song reminds me mainly of rainy days at home in bed, watching the rain drip down from your window. Then again, this is a great song to scream at the top of your lungs. So choose how you would like to listen. The Neighbourhood has various songs that will make it feel like fall, so I highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t already.
“Sign of the Times” - Harry Styles
Okay, get ready to cry because this song will bring on the waterworks. As sad as it is, this Harry Styles gem will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This song has sudden hints of sirens that you’ll hear that make it feel like you are walking on the streets of a big city as gloomy skies hover above you.
