The Terminal, a 2004 American comedy-drama featuring Tom Hanks, is a movie about a Krakozhia (a fictional country created for the film) citizen, Viktor Navorski. His hopes are to come to America to complete unfinished work his dad left before he died. But when his passport suddenly becomes invalid due to war his country is facing, he ends up staying in the Kennedy airport for longer than he expected and isn't allowed to step foot outside the gates into the city. This movie is loosely based on true events, “Mehran Nasseri, a British-Iranian who for 16 years has been officially stateless and living alone in Terminal 1 lounge of Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris.” (Sandhu, Sukhdev ). While living in the airport, the main character, Viktor Navorski, faces many obstacles such as how to survive in an airport, where to sleep, how to make money for food, etc. After days of getting used to the circumstances, he starts creating many connections with people such as the airport janitors, flight attendants, front desk employees and store clerks. Due to his kindness and perseverance he manages to be a hero in the eyes of the employees especially with the events that took place near the ending. The Terminal is filled with laughter but just as much romance. When Viktor Navroski meets a flight attendant, whom he fancies, he makes it his goal for her to notice him, but later finds out she's in a complicated situation. All in all I think this movie is definitely worth watching. It’s charming, political, romantic, sweet and filled with laughter - it’s a movie anyone and everyone can enjoy.
