Pink Day

By Ashley Paiva

We all know about how bullying affects everyone differently. Everyone also knows about the annual anti-bullying day that we all celebrate every year, Pink Day. We know that Pink Day started when a boy decided to show up to school in a pink shirt, and he was bullied, teased and taunted by some of his classmates. The next day almost everyone at his school showed up to school wearing pink to support him. International Day of Pink has since become a widely recognized day where we all stand in solidarity with those who struggle with being bullied. Now, onto the matter at hand.

Guess what, Tigers? Harbord C.I. is doing a virtual assembly for this special day. The assembly will be held this week on April 7th and 8th during the in-school morning period. This event is being hosted by Bent on Change, our school’s LGBTQ+ alliance club. There will be many different presentations from various clubs at our school, including Jewish Culture Club and GEAR. Stories from Harbord’s own students, and so much more will also be seen during the assembly. Be sure to tune in to YouTube to see the video this week during the morning periods. Let’s show everyone around the world that we as a school, and a community, will not stand for people in our lives and schools being bullied.
