The essentials:

Rudy is a burger joint located on College Street just east of Grace Street. The casual burger restaurant serves up the ideal “smashed burger” as well as multiple different fast food items. Their burger menu is composed of the “Rudy” $6.49, the “Rude Dude” $9.69 and the “Valentino” $7.49. A cheeseburger, a double cheeseburger and a fried chicken sandwich. Their sides include your choice of thin or thick fries $4.79, fried pickles and delicious homemade brownies. Like every proper burger joint, Rudy has 3 types of milkshakes: chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.

The experience:

Rudy opened at noon which was not ideal for us Harbord students as our lunch starts at 11:30 and ends at 12:30. When we arrived, we were a tad early, however we were let in. Upon entering, the interior of Rudy gave off a very positive vibe with nice paintings on the walls and properly set up tables. Since we were first to order our food came rather quickly. We received our food by very well trained and happy staff, and sat down delightfully and ready to eat our food. The both of us ordered a “Rudy” burger with a side of thin fries. Our first impressions were very optimistic as the burger was very well presented beside the bag of thin fries. After taking our first bites, we were very impressed with every component of the burger, from the meat right to the ooey gooey american cheddar cheese mixed in with the Rudy sauce. However, one negative for us was that the fries could have used a bit more salt. We were finished within a matter of minutes and on our way back to school.

The conclusion:

Rudy is a very well rounded burger joint that offers a very tasty burger along with flavourful sides. Even Though it is a bit on the pricier side and you must be efficient with your time, the burger, along with the whole experience is definitely worth your time.
